*The Listening Walk by Paul Showers. $6.99 (ages 4-8)

Beautiful book art work by Aliki. Starts with the little girl putting on her walking shoes & walking outside with her multiracial dad and dog; Shows the difference between outdoor sounds, busy city sounds and quiet nature sounds. At the end, she is back in her room & says, "You do not even have to take a walk to hear sounds. There are sounds everywhere all the time. All you have to do is keep still and listen.

The Backyard Bug Book for Kids: $5.32 (ages 3-5)
